Welcome to The Knight School of Dance.
The Knight School of Dance gives dancers of ALL AGES the opportunity to explore various dance styles including BALLET, TAP, MODERN THEATRE and ACROBATIC ARTS, nurturing their abilities and enjoying dancing in a happy, friendly and focused environment.
We take great care to deliver high quality dance tuition whilst encouraging individuals to learn a variety of skills which will not only help with their dance interests, but will equip them with key life-skills. Enjoy learning an awareness of good posture and technique with self-discipline and a love for dance and music. The classes we offer are progressive and as such, regular attendance is important to allow the individual and the class to advance in their skills to the best of their ability.
We are delighted to have had dancers attend classes throughout their childhood from tots to teens. Some students have successfully auditioned for vocational schools to continued their dance studies to become dancers and teachers and many others have returned to attend our adult classes after completing their higher education. We also provide classes for Older Leaners with the Silver Swans classes.
We welcome you to share this treasured and enjoyable experience and we believe the skills learnt at dance classes contribute to creating motivated, hardworking and creative individuals and we are proud to be able to offer a variety of opportunities including dance examinations, shows and performances, fundraising events, theatre trips, workshops, awards ceremonies and more.
Classes are held at California Ratepayers Hall, 415 Finchampstead Road, Finchampstead, WOKINGHAM RG40 3RL, which provides a well equipped environment for dance including ballet barres and a Harlequin Sprung Dance Floor. And we have recently added some classes which take place at Finchampstead, Memorial Hall, the Village, Finchampstead RG40 4JU.

Meet our Teachers
ALISON KNIGHT - PRINCIPAL
Hello, I'm Alison Knight, Principal of Knight School of Dance and I'm very pleased to welcome you.
I established Knight School of Dance in 1986, to follow my passion for passing on my love for dance and nurture others to develop their love for dance too, be it for recreation or more seriously, I believe everyone can enjoy the world of dance.
I began dancing at the tender age of 3 and progressed to study at St. Laurent College of Dance Studies for 3yrs full-time dance and dance teacher training, achieving advanced levels in RAD, ISTD and Cecchetti Ballet and ISTD Tap, Modern Theatre and National and qualifying and gaining Registered Teacher Status with ‘Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)’ and ‘Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD)’. More recently I have qualified as an Acrobatic Arts Level One teacher. I love to continue to develop my knowledge and teaching and embrace the opportunity to learn new and skills.
AMY RUMBLE - TEACHER
We are very lucky to have the services of Miss Amy who started dancing at Knight School of Dance at the age of 3 and studied RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern Theatre and Tap gaining advanced level exams with distinction. She has studied Contemporary dance at school from 12-18yrs and has taken part in many productions. At the age of 18, Amy pursued her passion for dance teaching and at the Linda Sweetzer Teacher Training College she achieved the Modern Theatre Diploma in Dance (DDE) with the ISTD. Following this has completed the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) with the RAD and holds Registered Teachers Status with both organisations. She is also a qualified Acrobatic Arts Level One teacher.
Amy has had the opportunity to live in Austria for 3 years and continued dance teaching in Salzburg and neighbouring towns in Germany. Whilst there, she learnt to speak German and enjoyed the opportunity to learn to snowboard!
Amy has the pleasure of teaching children 3-18yrs and adults for Ballet, Tap, Modern, Creative Dance and Acro and loves to share her passion with everyone she teaches.

'After dancing with Miss Knight for 14 years I could not recommend her enough! Miss Knight has been teaching me since I was 4, I am now 18 and about to leave for university, she has guided me through my development and focuses on each student and their needs whether that is for a future life pathway in dance, or as an extra curricular activity. Not only has she taught me classical ballet through her love of dance, but also life skills that I will carry through with me forever. This school is like a family, I have created such amazing friendships and found my true self.
