Jazz shoes are not usually required for exams, however shoes can be worn in class to protect the feet when practicing repetitive turns etc. Shoes that may be worn: Black split-sole jazz shoes or foot thong. (ballet shoes for class only)

Grooming

A high standard of grooming is an essential part of dance discipline and as such is part of the proviso for choosing to study dance (please visit our website for uniform requirements). Please ensure you make a good effort to maintain neat and tidy grooming by wearing the correct uniform at all times. Ballet leg-wear must be either ballet socks or regulation ballet tights. From Primary ballet upwards, hair must be secured in a bun for every lesson. Here is a link to a tutorial video of How To Make A Ballet Bun: https://youtu.be/QA0GTR85IxU. For modern and tap, hair must be worn in a neat style e.g. pony tail, plait or bun with fringes sprayed and pinned off the face securely. Please use a specialized dancewear supplier and fitter for all items of uniform and shoes particularly.

SECONHAND UNIFORM

A second-hand is held at the school and if you'd like to purchase any items, please ask Miss Knight. All second-hand uniform is sold as a fund raiser for the school 'Costume Fund'. Any donation of unwanted uniform will be gratefully received.
